Contains all five books in the War Gar for Hire series.

Gladiator, book one:

Reincarnated as the War God—he has a lot to learn to live up to that title.

His power is only as good as the skill he possesses to wield it. But there is a reason the former War God fell. He can only dare to imagine what foes lie in wait. He will have to build a team out of a former shield maiden, an elven sorceress intent on hiding her power, a beautiful lycan who doesn't trust anyone and a mortal-hating fire celestial. What could be hard about that?

Adventurer, book two:

Learning to fight comes to Kyle like he is remembering something he had forgotten.

Perhaps that makes sense as the reincarnated War God. But, weapons skills are not enough; Kyle has to learn to work with a team. More than that, he doesn't even know who the real enemies are yet. All that is going to change, though, and the heavens will shake as the War God makes his presence felt once again.

Mercenary, book three:

Free from those who would seek to make him their pawn, Kyle is now able to seek his own destiny. His team is shaping up around him, but becoming divine has given him a larger view of things.

He never asked for any of this, but can he turn his back on all of creation? That may very well be what is at stake. His relationship issues may just have to take a backseat.

Let his foes beware. If a team isn't enough, then the war god shall raise an army.

Conqueror, book four:

The death god fell, but that was hardly the end.

Kyle and his team still have to deal with a horde of undead and their masters. To make matters worse, the other gods may be taking a hand in things now. That would be good if they weren't more worried about ending the status quo than facing the threat to all of Verden.

But the war god is not alone in this. His team will bring armies to fight for him, even as he learns what it truly means to be a god. It isn't the end step that many seem to think it is, but rather just another rung on the ladder of cultivation.

Once those secrets are unlocked, he finds out that death may only be the beginning.

Overlord, book five:

Sides are being taken, and the curtain is pulled back. The true architects of the attacks on Kyle are coming to light.

The war god is now in control of his power and growing stronger by the day. He is ready to strike back, no matter if he must descend into the deepest pits of hell or climb to the highest heavens, he will stand victorious.

Join Kyle and his team for the epic conclusion of one man's journey from mortal to divine and beyond.

Narrated in duet style.

The story is about average for the genre. However as you progress through the books, the author almost seems to forget key scenes from the books prior. Then when a similar circumstance appears it's as if the MC is going through it for the first time. If this was a one off it wouldn't matter to much but it's fairly often throughout the series.

I'd say the biggest positive here are the voice actors. They pretty much save the story and keep it interesting enough to continue listening.

Basically if it's on sale and you got time to kill. Sure it'll do. just don't go into this expecting anything grand.

meh, it's ok.

The plot is slow at first then builds up quickly to make up for the slow start, however it’s a great read, fighting love, making and character development is good.

Pretty good overall, a lot of fun to listen to. Only a few inconsistencies that bother me.

I had a pretty good laugh in the 2nd Book at one of them. He just killed 2 assassins and was like "OMG shouldn't I be concerned that it doesn’t bother me? I just killed 2 people!" even though he has killed FAR more than that already.

In fact, at the beginning of the first book, he killed a bunch of innocent query workers by accident and it didn't even phase him.

Fun Story
