Sometimes murder comes in waves....

In 1979, a florist's lifeless body surfaced in the serene waters of Dyes Inlet, an enchanting estuary connected to the vast Puget Sound. Although the murder was never solved, a sinister heart carved into the victim's back made the case unforgettable.

Forty-four years later, history repeats itself as not one, but two more victims are discovered within 48 hours, each bearing the exact same chilling carving in their flesh. The county's darkest mystery is about to be ripped wide open.

Enter Thomas Austin, a private investigator with a haunted past he's finally ready to leave behind. Called in to untangle the threads of one of the most disturbing cold cases in the state's history, Austin realizes quickly that nothing is as it seems.

To unravel the mystery, he must delve into the past and confront a chilling question: how long can love endure, and to what unimaginable lengths will one person go to preserve it?

Gripping, visceral, and hauntingly evocative, The Drowning at Dyes Inlet is a pulse-pounding mystery that will leave you breathless and questioning everything you thought you knew about the depths of true love.

some of the places were pronounced incorrectly. I only know Bev's because I'm a local.

But, after having read the reviews of previous books, and how often this narrator mispronounces local city names, you’d think he would do some research prior to reading his next one.

Thank you, Mr. Black, for all the historically correct locations in this series. These really truly bring your stories to life. You are a marvelous writer and so descriptive. Even those who would have never visited the Pacific NW would feel its beauty while feeling your deeply interest grabbing stories!

The locations are spot on!

I just recently came across this author. I am now invested in the characters and the life of Thomas Austin. This character has fast become a part of my family. I can't wait to see what happens next.

I’ve been blowing through these books. I frequently do long car trips… 12 hours at a time… so easily polish off one of the books during a trip. I enjoy the whole story. I love seeing the same characters in each book while meeting new ones also.

My biggest disappointment is the pronunciation of so many words. Spokane is Spo-can and Agate is not A-gate. A tiny bit of research could have helped out here.

Enjoyable story but work on the pronunciation
