Aleric lives a grueling life as a dungeon guard in the once magical and prosperous kingdom of Mazeron, which has crumbled since magic was banned and its users forcefully exterminated, ultimately leaving it defenseless against a world of perils. When a dragon's attack leaves his life in ashes, Aleric's grief awakens a power he never knew he possessed; a power which is also punishable by death. Summoned before the reclusive king and his sinister counsel, Aleric faces an inescapable predicament: face execution, or become the king's paladin, the kingdom's last hope for salvation.

Haunted by loss and hunted for his powers, Aleric is thrust into a world of secret societies, ancient grimoires, and deadly conspiracies. As he battles mythical beasts and navigates shifting alliances, Aleric must decide whether to wield his newfound strength for himself or for his king and the fragile hope of Mazeron's future. But in a land where magic means exile or death, every choice could cost him everything he has left.

For listeners who crave epic fantasy with high stakes, unforgettable creatures and characters, and a kingdom on the brink, The King's Paladin is a sweeping tale of power, loss, sacrifice, and the courage to reclaim a lost world...

Super fun read. The story started out quickly and was entertaining all the way through. It has a lot of the familiar fantasy themes in it that I love, but written in an original way. The narrator took a minute to get used to, but I think he does a great job.

I really loved The King’s Paladin. It was easy to read, well paced, and kept me engaged the entire time. There’s no swearing or romance, which made me comfortable giving it to my teenager—something I truly appreciate.

The characters were enjoyable and well developed, and the setting was vivid without being overwhelming. Overall, this is a clean, engaging fantasy that works well for both adults and younger readers. I would definitely recommend it.

Really Enjoyed this one.
