Natalie's day is taking a nosedive.

She's been fired from her job and was just dumped by her boyfriend right before boarding the plane. The airport buzzes with excited travelers, but she stands there, grappling with the reality of her situation. A week-long family celebration on the coast of Maine looms, and she's desperate to show her relatives she isn't a complete disaster.

She needs a hero, someone to pose as her loving partner and help her maintain her self-respect. All seems lost until her path crosses with Jake, a stone-faced businessman, and they make a deal.
