The second installment of this adventurous fantasy sees Lillith reaching daring new heights—and some dangerous lows.

Lillith has always possessed the ability to feel the grief of the people around her. But now she can harness it and put it to use as well. That said, her recent exploits have labeled her a monster and a villain, specifically "the Mage of Mourning." This title is a nod to both the carnage she leaves in her wake and the tools she implements in the process. But Lillith doesn't need a good reputation. She doesn't even need this life. And she certainly doesn't need to keep her hands free of blood.

Now, despite having helped as many people as possible in Satusmor, giving the common folk there access to basic necessities, Lillith's job is far from done. She's determined to wreak a little havoc in the city of Visenar, but unfortunately, havoc has a lot in store for her. She'll need the help of an intriguing woman named Sarafyna, who has her own powers and complex history—and who interests Lillith in more ways than one . . .

Things get more complicated every day, what with new friends and foes, the unseen Collector, and the mysterious, sacred Radiant Woods. But abolishing slavery, encouraging the widespread use of mana, and ending the monarchy isn't going to happen overnight.

Featuring a brash, brainy heroine who wields magic, kicks ass, and still makes time for romance, the Otherworldly Anarchist series is perfect for fans of female-centric progression fantasy.

The second volume of the hit isekai adventure series—with almost a million views on Royal Road—now available in paperback, ebook, and audiobook!

I like the little references here and there

it's a good story it just has a main character who functions off of impossibilities and idealism. that itself isn't bad but it's clear that the story wouldn't work without the writer making her characters dreams come true. if you want a true Revenge tail then this is it but it's purely fantasy. either way I enjoyed it but I don't think I'll listen to the third book at least not right away.

Great, but....

I really liked the premise and little twists along the way. though it was pretty obvious throughout that the author is new to full stories and pros, overall it was enjoyable.

the narrator did a great job with every female character...except the MC. mostly, she played it well but couldn't seem to stop the vitriol from coming out even when the character was describing or talking about something/somewhere/someone that she liked. even describing how happy she was in her new little town, she sounded disgusted lol
the male voices were pretty awful in general though that might have been intentional because of how hated and gross men are in the book. it seems more likely that she narrator used a pretty deep voice for the Fem MC and couldn't go any lower for the dudes.

satisfying

Too often I encounter power fantasies where the protagonist eats up a majority of the world's grey matter. This story has real and cunning villains, and even morally grey antagonists. It is the mark of a truly skilled writer who can pull off a world setting like this. The nuggets of revelations are not revealed all at once but instead trickled out tantalizingly, the protagonist's schemes aren't revealed until the big climaxes, and the stakes never stop feeling real. I am gripped all throughout the story and I feel satisfied with how it all unfurls.

Incredibly brilliant characterizations and story pacing

Great book loved the story and narrator. pears are delicious and you should stop the crusade against such a heavenly fruit.

5 stars minus 1 for pear hate
