Most love stories are written in the stars. Ours was forged in darkness. A love born from survival.

One, two, three, four...

You want a fight, I'll bring a war.

Five, six, seven, eight...

I'll even use such pretty bait.

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, why...

Did you leave me there to die?

But I'm not dead,

I survived... somehow.

And it's my games that you'll play now.

Rich men, poor men, begging men, bleed.

A brutal death is what they need.

Our lives were theirs; they stole our souls.

Now, it's our turn to take control.

So, do you dare to join me in my game of whys?

Where hidden truths become wicked lies.

Will you survive the ultimate test?

Which one of you will be the best?

They call you The Player, but I'm going to show

That those closest to you can be your greatest foe.

The Taskmaster is ready, are you? The Player is a standalone dark romance set in the Soldiers of Anarchy world by international bestselling author Nikki J Summers. Intended for mature listeners.

MMC: Will “The Player”
FMC: Bryony

This is the fourth book in the series “Soldiers of Anarchy.” It’s best if you start at the beginning and read the series in order.
The book is told in dual POV and narrated in dual narration by Faye Adele and Shane East. Each narrator has a British accent and they were perfect for the story. Shane East is one of my favorite narrators and I just love his voice. He’s absolutely perfect for Will! 🖤
Will is the player of the crew “Sons of Anarchy” for vigilante justice. He’s been after Bryony since the last book. They are kidnapped and forced to work together. This is where the TaskMaster enters the chat! He has them complete sick games in order to stay alive. This was a crazy emotional ride. The trauma they both suffered. Craziness. Will they survive the TaskMaster? Will they fall in love and overcome the obstacles?

This by far was my favorite. It was definitely on the darker side but I never expected the twists in this one. I need more of the task master story… I also enjoyed the way she talked about mental health and getting the help needed and the brutal reality at the cards they were dealt with. Hope is so dangerous and ugh why am I crying for the bad guy ?!!! Ugh he needed a hug 💔

The way I gasped and cried

What a ride/read/listen. At first I thought I wouldn’t like this book. As it’s the darkest of all the stories, I kept at it and finished it. I am still not 100% sure how I feel but you have to finish it to get what I mean. “No wire hangers” just kidding! But again you have to read/listen to fully get what I mean. Take the risk!! Shane East will surprise you! Aha, ha, haha. I gave it a four but again you have to read/listen to see why! Go on jump in!

Love this whole series and the voice performances at spot on! Can’t wait for book 5 and in hopes they do the audio!

Love!

I've been waiting for Will’s story and wasn't disappointed. It was a dark romance with a side of the movie Saw. The mental games had me stressed, but in the aftermath of the FMC, Bryony, and Will broke my heart. Their dedication and loyalty brought it back together. This book was an emotional roller coaster.

Worth the Read
