Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. It is little snippets of memory. I would do it two or three sittings.

I love you Carol!!

This was so enjoyable I was disappointed when it ended. It even included your tarzan yell!! I'm so glad we had this time together...........

My Favorite Female Comedian

This book was amazing. I laughed and cried! I learned intimate details about a woman I have admired all my life! As a child I watched her variety show every week. Our church had a special “singing” service on the last Saturday each month. They usually lasted very late - 11 PM or later! One Saturday we were out by 9:30 and I was thrilled because it meant I’d be home in time to watch MY Carol! I was laying on the floor looking up at the huge floor model color screen when my mom walked into the living room and annoyingly asked me what I was doing! I flippantly responded, “Watching Carol Burnett! I love her!” My mom, hands on hips said, “You’d watch Carol Burnett if the house was burning down around you!” I shrugged a little shrug since my chin was propped on my fist extended up from elbows holding it on the floor and said, “Probably!”. NOT the answer she wanted! She took a deep irritated breath and sternly yelled back , “Well, it’s on fire!” I turned and looked up to see a dense cloud of smoke had formed above me. Mom exclaimed for me to get up and help! Apparently, the wood stove, my dad had put in the dirt basement and had piped up to come out our furnace had caught on fire! There was a closet beside the wall unit where the heat came out to warm the house and the back and inside of the closet was on fire! I was absolutely scarred out of my wits! We got the fire put out (well mostly my mom did! The phone rang and it was someone my dad worked with. He sat down and talked for I don’t know how long or about what and never mentioned his house being on fire! I never did find out what was so important he had to take that call! But my mom and our very long garden hose pulled in the window defeated the blaze! Never again did we have a wood burning stove! After that, I made a habit of sitting on the sofa to watch my Carol Burnet! If smoke or fire were coming, I wanted to know!!

She always can move me and make my laugh out loud.

What did you love best about This Time Together?

What I loved best about the book was gaining a better understanding of Ms. Burnett's generous spirit, sense of humor and professionalism.

What other book might you compare This Time Together to and why?

I don't usually read books like this; in fact this is the first.

I watched her TV show often and loved hearing about the backstage work that made it happen.

EMOTIONAL

My face hurts from laughing through much of this book. The overly emotional parts made me tear up. Carol Burnett is most certainly a national treasure.
