An arranged marriage. A daring escape. Can a Virginia heiress find true freedom and unexpected love on the high seas?
Isabella Montgomery never wanted to be a bride.
On the eve of her wedding to the calculating Lord Ashworth, she makes a daring escape, stowing away on a merchant vessel bound for the Caribbean. Discovered and forced to return to Virginia, Isabella sees her dreams of freedom slipping away.
But when the notorious Captain Blackthorn and her fierce female pirate crew attack the Lady Liberty, a glimmer of hope rekindles. Even more shocking, she recognizes one of the pirates as Anne Marie, a woman who offered her kindness in Port Royal. Faced with a perilous decision—return to the gilded cage of her former life or embrace a dangerous new world as a pirate—Isabella must decide if her escape is worth the ultimate gamble.
Can Isabella find her place among the fierce women pirates, and find a love that defies all odds? Or will she be swallowed by the tides of a world determined to crush her?

Izzy can be annoying as she has a lot of self-doubt and she has guilt over killing a man that basically raped her.
There is mixed up chapters, and there are a few holes in this story. One of those holes has you wondering how long it took them at sea to get back to the island, as Anna Marie was all healed from serious injuries, including a compound leg fracture.
If you're looking for spice or steam, you are not finding it in this book. If it wasn't for the kissing, the hand holding the innuendos that there was more than that, and the declaration that they love one another, you would think it just an all female pirate crew story.
The only reason I give this book an R rating is because it has violence.
Besides the faults of the editing and a few other mishaps with this book, it could have been a lot better if done by an actual human instead of virtual voice.
