Deanna is supporting her small family while her father recovers in a nearby sanatorium, but just before she starts her job, the neighbor's child is found to be very sick and the father nowhere. Deanna calls to a stranger for help, skating on the frozen lake nearby...not knowing the man is also her new boss.

Ryan finds pleasure in helping the small family with the neighbor's sick child, and he offers to help the girl's father as well. Although he is from a very wealthy family, he wishes to be part of the quaint Russell home.

As Deanna and Ryan are pulled together time and time again to help others in need, they realize their own love for one another as they discover that Two Are Better Than One.

Performance could have been smoother, words were mispronounced, and character accents not consistent

Lovely Wholesome Characters, Nurturing Voice

Great to see these characters brought to life in an audio book! I never see romance like this anymore where I like both the romantic leads and feel like they have fleshed out characters. It was so refreshing. I felt like I was at home with Laurel Monroe's narration. Such a soothing voice.

Excellent Performance by Laurel Monroe

Sweet story with kind, principled characters. The performance was great. I got lost in the story. The narrator's voice is well matched for the story. Monroe voice is clear and animated. She lets the story shine through. A great listen.

In the style of Grace Livingston Hill, but none of the magic

I did not enjoy the narration. The story is cute, but seems formulaic and has little attraction.
