When Elizabeth Bennet travels to Hunsford, she expects the greatest trial of her visit to be the overbearing Lady Catherine de Bourgh. Instead, she encounters Lord Julian Fairfax. He is everything she professes to despise—proud, reserved, and trailed by scandal—yet he possesses a brilliant, unsettling similarity to Fitzwilliam Darcy.
Before Elizabeth can untangle her contradictory feelings, a string of anonymous letters begins tearing through the local society. No one is safe from the poison pen, and when the whispers threaten both the Bennet name and Darcy’s fiercely guarded past, Elizabeth is thrust into a dangerous game of discovery.
Darcy’s sudden return only deepens the mystery. Caught between a man she is trying to hate and a man she is dangerously tempted to trust, Elizabeth must race to expose the letter-writer. But the ghosts of Willowmere Manor are waking, and the truth may cost her the one man she never expected to love.

In this variation (which has nothing do do with the provided description BTW), Darcy has never met Elizabeth’s mother, father, or younger sisters. Yet in his proposal, he keeps going on about their misbehavior.

I mean… dear authors, if you’re going to change key elements in your story (which is perfectly fine), please show at least an ounce of logic — and don’t just copy and paste from the original word for word! 😤
