Book 2 of Wild Era.

The Lord of Wildfire has been reborn, but the Wild Era is full of dangers and his strength needs to rise.

He has disrupted the plans of Baron Verasun and the Sarathian Empire, creating enemies both near and far, while the enemies who killed him in his first life are still out there.

His rise is meteoric, but the Path of Stars is ignoring him, so he has to forge his own path to power.

With the Stars Alliance and his old knowledge on his side, he sets his sight on the things that can help him the most: the Chaos Remnants.

These mystical dungeons cover the world, full of experience, artifacts, and other rewards that can shape his life and grant him steady progress. Only by conquering them will his Evolutions be smooth.

His immediate goals mix with the need to look after his two young apprentices, Yao and Naomi, and help them plan for their own classes.

Fortunately, he's good at all of it.

So glad we got a little bit of more history and seeing what Sam is up to. Want to know more about the other sovereigns and where the other titans are right now

This was another fun entry in the series that I really enjoyed. The main character comes from another world where he was powerful but permanently bottlenecked, and he reincarnates into a new world with magic. What I appreciated most is how the author handled the return of his memories — delayed until a major event later in life — which gives this reincarnation story a fresh and thoughtful twist. It does a great job explaining both his past limitations and his current potential in a way that feels earned rather than convenient.

There’s a lot of forward momentum in this book. The main character tiers up, gets real answers to lingering questions, and faces genuinely tough fights. Just as importantly, several plot threads are wrapped up instead of being dragged out endlessly. I really appreciated that choice. Too many series get stuck recycling the same conflicts, but here the author clearly trusts himself to introduce new challenges instead of forcing the listener to sit through the same ones over and over. That confidence makes the progression feel rewarding rather than stalled.

Overall, this was an amazing book that I absolutely loved. It builds on what made the first book enjoyable while clearly moving the story and character forward.

Neil Hellegers was fantastic as the narrator. I’ve listened to him for years, and he really shines here. The energy and excitement come through clearly — it never feels phoned in. You can tell he’s engaged with the story, and that made this a particularly fun listen.

Progress Done Right, No Endless Stalling

I would rate this 5 stars, if not for the publisher padding the time, has almost a full half hour of previews at the end of the book, serves no reason aside from making the book look longer than it actually is.

Enjoyable story.

The story continues to be interesting in that the author spent the time to provide likable secondary characters that the MC spends time protecting and leveling them up so they can fend for themselves. The major problem with the story is that the MC levels-up very quickly and unrealistically, even considering the fantasy nature of the novel. For example, he bravely solo-challenges dungeons that are well above his level and that are meant to be delved with multiple party members. Furthermore, he also takes his lower-leveled charges into these same types of dungeons and they, too, gain tens of levels during one dungeon run.

Still, I plan to continue the series.

Neil Hellegers' performance was a definite value-added narrator to the novel.

MC quickly levels up

I enjoyed this addition to the Guardians of Aster Fall story. I can’t wait for the next book!
