narrative change is cool

love it so far, the changing of narratives is really engaging. plus I really enjoy the tobbaciana in the story.

Very good story

This was a very good story overall. The narrator did a great job. It got a bit too descriptive early on about clothes, saddles and such that it almost lost me. However I stuck with it and it turned out to be part action-packed. I’m a pipe smoker so it’s good to see the hobby represented in a positive light! I would listen to the other books in the series.

R. A. Schmitt and Reuben Ashcroft definitely have what it takes to become the next Dynamic Duo in the genre!
I am VERY MUCH looking forward to Book 2! The story’s ingenious approach to entering a different world and redefining the very concept of “up and down” is captivating. It’s a testament to the Schmitt's creativity and ability to immerse the reader in a setting that feels fresh and exciting.
What I like most is the “well, here I am, let's roll with it” attitude shown by all the characters that carries throughout the story. This boldness and adaptability keep the story moving at a brisk pace. Always entertaining!
The characters are very relatable and likable. Their personalities are easy to connect with, making you root for their success.
As a longtime fan of Kevin Hearne’s Iron Druid series featuring Luke Daniels’ narration, I was amazed by the performance in this audiobook. Reuben Ashcroft is nipping at Luke Daniels’ heels, bringing these colorful characters to life with skill and vibrancy. The narration adds an extra layer of enjoyment, elevating the entire experience.

This book is a compelling ride filled with bold choices, memorable characters, and exceptional narration. I can’t wait to see where the story goes next in Book 2—bring it on!

Fantasy that makes me want to play dnd. Glad to see it on audiobook format.

Great new story from a great new author

The book kept me reeled in, it was entertaining, it definitely made me hungry at times and pick up smoking a pipe, the way things are described make you crave. The book was a slow burn, but that wasn't a bad thing as everything was enjoyable overall. I definitely feel sad that I can't quite continue onto his next book since it's not on audible yet.
100% recommend giving this a try
