(Excerpt from the Introduction) We find ourselves here without a map! Where do we go? What way do we take? What is life’s purpose? Where is it going? In this short book I want to share with you a ‘map’ that God has given us. We don’t have to be lost. We were made by God, and he has provided us with guidance for this life, and for all eternity. He did not leave us alone – even though it can feel like that sometimes.

Jesus – ‘God with us’ (Matthew 1:23) – came to be ‘to’ and ‘through’ us. This is a gift from God. He refreshes our soul, and then flows through us to the world around us. He gives us purpose, power, direction – every day, now and forevermore. Jesus gave people not only truth to believe, but paths to follow, and Spirit to minister. ‘God, don’t leave us here!’ My friend, Brian, had whispered this prayer the night before. Just outside his door there had been a violent, cold-blooded fight. In this short book I work in reverse order. I begin by sharing where I’m at now in dealing with cults, and then I work back to explain how I got to this place over the years. I share some personal experiences and key Scriptures, which have helped me grow in this area and find a footing in dealing with cults. God looks for you. He searches for you. Jesus notices when you’re not there, and he leaves the crowd, the event, to find you. I hope God’s words and love come off these pages and stay with you, as ‘spirit and life’. (Excerpt) Introduction: To heal the blind man, Jesus spat in the ground, made a paste in the mud, and smeared this mud in the sockets of the man’s eyes. He asked the man if he could see. You can only see what you see. This sounds obvious, but determines everything. What you see determines where you go and what you do. Do you see a path ahead? You see it, therefore you head in that direction. You don’t see it, you go elsewhere… Do you ‘see’ value or meaning in this career? You ‘go’ in that direction. You invest, study, sacrifice, meet up with… The light in your eyes – your physical eyes – gets you out of the woods, the literal woods. And the light in your mind, in your heart, connects you to life choices and relationships.

Jesus called his followers to share his message with others. ‘The Holy Spirit will testify about me, but you also must testify, because you have been with me.’ (John 15:26-27) His message, his ‘good news’, being his own name and person: ‘God with us.’ (Matthew 1:23) God has come.
