If you are considering buying this book, let me be honest with you: It has taken me 26 years to write it. This book began when my father died. I had a nudging in my heart and spirit to tell my story. Like most of us, we start and stop so many things in life. I started and stopped so many times because I was questioning myself. My first thoughts were who would want to listen to it and would anyone buy it. It started with the loss of my dad on January 11, 1995, and that all changed when my mother passed on January 18, 2021.

My heart for writing this book, is so that those who believe, can know that they have the power to have be and do any and all they desire too. With the understanding that your life has to be aligned with love, peace, joy and compassion not just for what you want, but for people. This does not mean you are going to be financially rich, but you can be; this is about you living your best life with security and safety.

You know one man died and another one disappeared on the same stretch of river. You also know you need to work, but teaching is tough, substituting is worse, and if it's in a youth prison, it can be a real killer. Especially if the prison's superintendent was the only person on the river those two days and your father was the man who died and you're involved in the investigation of the disappearance. But, who knows, with a little luck you may find love along the way, if you don't get killed first.

It is the heart of a man, and even many men that can inspire others to look at life more closely, especially in their own relationships. Relationships are what help us grow as people. It is our relationships especially with family and friends that influence us the most. Unemployment and Murder. The economy is tough, layoffs are in the works, and some people are willing to do absolutely anything to stay employed. Other people have more personal motives for their actions-getting even, or better yet, getting ahead. In a fast paced production plant were schedule, quality, and passing government inspections are everything, some people don't take the time to watch their backs, though they probably should. Then there are always those who spent their energy looking for love. The question is, can Jack do it all?

When I used to ask my father how he was doing he would always say, “Getting old, but it beats the alternative.” But he never talked about what it is like to get old. Now that I’m doing it, I know, and it ain’t pretty. This is a fictional story about a seventy year old man who lost his wife to cancer, contact with his children due to misinformation, is feeling all the ills of being older, and is left alone in the world without a support system other than his dog. But mostly it is a story about what it’s like to be an old man. It’s about all the things my father didn’t talk ...
