In this comic book world, they have magical powers that they use to try to restore the original artwork that the evil Paint Thinner and Eraser have distorted. Our heroes meet up with Hansel and Gretel, Jack (of the beanstalk), and Cinderella. Since they themselves have become two-dimensional, the comic book world looks natural to them. But they soon discover that there are different physical laws in this land of two dimensions.

Now that World War II is over, Eric and his men face a new war: teaching at a boys' military academy. Many of these cadets are there only because they were thrown out of their schools or discarded by their families.

A platoon of misfit American soldiers from all walks of life forms a World War II force to be feared. From the son of a billionaire, the son of a farmer, and that of a street bum, emerge heroes. When Ruth Ellen is left desolate, back home in America, she must decide whether or not to accept Eric's offer to marry her by proxy, though they barely know each other.

The thrill of fairytales mixes with the deeper story-lines that appeal to adults and gives the listener of Fairytales and Shorts for Grownups a different experience than when reading stories written for children. Some are fairy tales without magic, and others are the retelling of old and loved fairy tales, but with an unexpected twist. Some of the stories are simply short stories or novelettes, allowing for those who have only a little time for books to enjoy stories like everyone else.

World War Two concludes as Eric leads his men through France, Belgium, and Germany, finally bringing what remains of this tattered platoon home once again. Lillian deals with treating wounded GIs in a hospital in England. Ruth Ellen suffers amnesia, and does not even remember the war or her husband. Through it all, God leads His people and provides everything they need.

Modern-day teenager Denzel suddenly finds himself in a world that looks like that of King Arthur's Court. His Bible has become a literal sword, and his faith a shield in his hand. According to the chief knight, he has been in this real world countless times and refers to the world Denzel came from as the shadow world. The knight explains that once someone remembers the shadow world, he will likely not forget it or the real world again. Both worlds affect each other.

Walking Australia describes the way Americans Charlie and Sally Hull most enjoy seeing the country, meeting the people along the way. From the streets of Sydney, over to the desert of Alice Springs, and on down to Melbourne and the Great Ocean Road, the old mining town of Ballarat and up into the Blue Mountains, the Hulls talk and laugh with Australians and visitors alike as they enjoy the culture differences and beauty of Australia.
