Even though it seems unrecoverable, you can grow through loss and what feels like you have lost everything.

Life requires death as its conclusion. This is part of the human condition. Growth from death is only an option. Growth is a goal that can only be achieved with effort. Many people are "torn down" by grief and it sets them back. I have had family and friends that have never recovered from loss. Growing is a choice. Choose growth or choose life. The decision is only yours. The wise choice is growth.

Freedom was an issue in the time of Luther. Freedom is still an issue. Is freedom unlimited or are there limits. People and nations today wrestle with this issue. Consider these ideas as you address this issue in your life and world.

Some eulogies stick in the minds of generations and remain for future generations. I can still recall the eulogy of Ted Kennedy in 1968 of his slain brother Bobby Kennedy: "My brother need not be idealized, or enlarged in death beyond what he was in life; to be remembered simply as a good and decent man, who saw wrong and tried to right it, saw suffering and tried to heal it, saw war and tried to stop it. Those of us who loved him and who take him to his rest today, pray that what he was to us and what he wished for others will some day come to pass for all the world."

Grief is a process that you must work through and it is not time limited. Some never work through grief while others work through it and return to a life changed but directed again to the future. Grief will affect all of us. Christians have hope but still grieve. This book will help you or a friend work through grief. You are a youth pastor or youth worker, and someone dies. It could be the grandparent, or parent of a youth in your ministry. It could be a peer who is killed in a terrible accident, or it could be a student in a local high school or middle school. How will you respond to help the families, the individuals in your youth group or the youth at the local high school? Could it be that God has put you in the situation for a divine purpose? Life always includes its share of losses and goodbyes. Coping and growing in and through change and loss is part of the process of life here on Earth. It is my hope and prayer that this book and others will be a guide to you on your journey through life.

For the sort of dreams that humans have while asleep, you will have to consult other books. This book is not about bad dreams or nightmares either. This book is about dreams in real life that are dashed by death, divorce, moves, loss of a job, or a loss of a relationship. Hence, these are grieving dreams or dream death. The circumstances of life, for us all, brings loss into our lives. Some loss is self-actuated, other loss is from the actions of others, while other losses just happen in what we call "acts of God".

Mayhem is sadly part of life. Whether it is Pearl Harbor or 911 acts of terror, or a terror causing accident in the home, in a car, or plane the potential for mayhem is ever present. Mayhem is everywhere a possibility. How will we respond and regroup after mayhem is the most important question. If it has hit you or someone you care about this book is for you.
