The progression of the course starts with simply repeating set phrases, which anyone can do. Then, we steadily bring the student to a place where he can formulate complete and accurate sentences in real-time conversation.

With the second installment of Mastering French Conversation, we expand our ability to converse in French. As before, the drills allow you to practice hearing, understanding and formulating sentences in French. In this way you learn to think in French. You are preparing for live conversations on the streets of Paris. This program is likely the most intensive and demanding audio self-help French program available. This module continues your focus on learning to use the perfect tense in spoken German. After working through the drills, you will have a better grasp of formulating concepts in the past tense. Also, you will be able to interact at a basic level around the office, when talking about travel and weather, and when visiting a restaurant.

This unit is a spoken phrase book allowing you to practice speaking and understanding travel related phrases. In units one through five, we have introduced travel-related vocabulary and verbal exchanges you will encounter often; this unit builds on that foundation.

Like unit one, this module focuses on modal verbs. We also briefly introduce the perfect (past), future, and subjunctive tenses. We expand vocabulary associated with the house, and practice gender and adjective endings in real-time speech.

This is our last and most advanced module focused on learning to use the perfect tense in spoken German. The major components of this unit are: advanced practice for "sein", "haben", and "modal" verbs in the present perfect tense; advanced practice for comparison constructions; additional vocabulary useful for office and social life; and advanced practice for correct application of gender, case, and adjective endings. At the end of the unit, the student will have a strong grasp of using past participles in free-flowing speech.
