Hear singer-songwriter Ray Davies on this edition of Fresh Air. Davies first became known as the leader of the band The Kinks, one of the great and enduring British bands to came out of the 60s. Davies' first solo record, Other People's Lives was released in 2006. While recording the album in New Orleans, he was shot in the leg by a man who stole his girlfriend's purse. His new album, Working Man's Cafe, was released this month.

Forman grew up in Czechoslovakia, where he helped to create Czech New Wave cinema before emigrating to the United States in 1969.

Daniel Mendelsohn's book The Lost: A Search for Six of Six Million is about investigating what happened to his great uncle's family. As a child, old Jewish relatives told stories of family members killed in the Holocaust. Mendelsohn undertook a worldwide search for surviving members of his family's town.

Farah and Braun have collaborated on a new book about Russian weapons supplier Victor Bout. Bout emerged from the Cold War with easy access to the massive inventories of weapons and ammunition built up by the Soviets.

Journalist David Remnick and former two-time heavyweight champion of the world George Foreman on this edition of Fresh Air. David Remnick is the author of the book King of the World, about heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali. Remnick is editor of The New Yorker Magazine and is also the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Lenin's Tomb. In 1974, in what was called the "Rumble in the Jungle", Foreman took on Muhammad Ali in Zaire for the world heavyweight title.

Illustrator Marjane Satrapi and guitar legend Jimmy Page on this edition of Fresh Air. Marjane Satrapi is the author of the memoir, Persepolis: The Story of a Childhood. The book is in the form of an illustrated comic. Satrapi was born in 1969 in Iran, and grew up in Tehran during the Islamic Revolution.

Hear authors Stephen Walt and Abraham Foxman, and beer expert Michael Jackson, on this edition of Fresh Air. Stephen Walt is the co-author (along with John Mearsheimer) of the book The Israel Lobby. The book grew out of their controversial article, which was published in the London Review of Books in March 2006. The two examine the impact of the Israel lobby on U.S. foreign policy and argue that support for Israel cannot be fully explained on either strategic or moral grounds.

Hear filmmaker Jeffrey Blitz and law professor Elyn Saks on this edition of Fresh Air. Jeffrey Blitz wrote and directed the new film Rocket Science. It's a partly autobiographical coming-of-age tale about a teenage boy who joins the high-school debate team. Blitz won the Dramatic Directing Award at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival.

Computer programmer Linus Torvalds on this edition of Fresh Air. He is the creator of Linux, a computer operating system intended to improve upon Unix. When Torvalds wrote the original code in 1991, he sent it out on the Internet to allow anyone to make changes and improvements.
