I have read this book before and knew when the audio was available I had to listen! I was not disappointed! These narrators brought a story I love to life.

The story pulls you in, makes you invested in each character. The story unfolds and as each chapter passes, you fall deeper into their world, struggling to function when you have to return to the mundane. The author claims this is not a happily ever after but a villain origin story and they are absolutely correct!

The pain and sorrow feels even more real listening to the story come to life in audio form. I was traumatized all over again but can't wait for book 2!!

Duet narration

The writing was great. The character development is great. The narration was great. The spice was 🤌 🌶🌶🌶🌶.
This is epic romantic fantasy at its finest!

The fmc is a straight up bad ass survivor with a walking red flag love interest who will burn the world down for her.

The mmc (her brother) fights his way through all the things to save his sister, and is saved by two sexy beasts that really know how to... fight. I'm not usually a fan of throuples, but these three support and comfort each other, and their relationship develops beautifully.

It got crazy at the end just how you want an action high fantasy to do. The politics of old friends becomes the wedge that tears worlds apart. How far do old loyalties get you when anyone can be an unwitting puppet under the control of powerful people. My eyes teared up a few times and I laughed out loud a few times. Highly recommend.
