I love the Dark Sovereign books and this one did not disappoint. There’s nothing sweet and romantic about Davian and Poppy but they’re a psychologically messed up pair! I thought the hunting games went on a little longer than they should have but they were next level HOT so I didn’t mind so much🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️. There’s not much going on drama wise during the meat of the book but the end wrapped up nicely and it was a relief that Poppy could finally lay to rest her thirst for revenge. I won’t say how or who took the hit but she finally found where she belonged in life. Narration was excellent as usual for Bella J books. It will be going to my “favorites” folder!

I am committed to the series so of course I wanted to read this standalone of the secondary characters from Bella J’s mafia series. This was a fail for me. Too much sex and too little story to the point I got bored and wanted the whole thing to end. I finished it cause i wanted to get my moneys worth but I really didn’t like Poppy or Davian. Too repetitive story lines and too repetive dialogue. Actually there was more sex than storyline. The interplay between sexing my parents killer got old and the sex got perverted cause the POV’s were perverted so I guess it fit. At the end of the day it was a disappointment. I couldn’t get done fast enough and it started to drag half way through. I just wanted to be put out of misery and was begging for a bullet.
