Can love bridge the divide between politics and passion?

Ellie Thompson, a seasoned congressional representative from Raleigh, NC, has built her career on balancing the impossible—juggling her personal beliefs with the demands of her swing district. Known for her cool composure and sharp political acumen, she’s the epitome of an ice queen in the halls of power. But when a new piece of legislation brings her face-to-face with Jordan Reyes, an outspoken progressive activist, Ellie finds her carefully maintained facade beginning to crack. She’s determined to stand her ground, but Jordan's fiery spirit and relentless idealism challenge everything Ellie thought she knew about politics—and herself.

Jordan Reyes is no stranger to battles. As a passionate political activist, she's fought tirelessly for progressive causes, driven by a deep-seated belief in justice and change. Meeting Ellie Thompson, the woman who embodies everything Jordan distrusts about politics, sets off an unexpected spark. Jordan’s initial frustration turns into a complex attraction as she discovers the vulnerable heart behind Ellie's icy exterior. Torn between her principles and a growing desire for the congresswoman, Jordan must decide if she’s willing to risk her ideals for a chance at something deeper.

In the high-stakes world of Washington D.C., where ambition and ideals collide, can two women navigate their differences and find common ground—and love? 'Breaking the Ice,' the first book in the 'Power & Passion' series, takes you on an unforgettable journey through the corridors of power, where the personal is always political.

As far as virtual voice goes, it is usually really bad. But in this series the virtual voice is actually tolerable. Yes, there are a lot of mistakes with pronunciation of certain words, and lack of emotions, but the voice isn't as annoying as most.

The relationships in this political series always cause controversy. In this book though the Congress woman comes out to end the blackmail and she and her partner survive and thrive.

There is a little spice in this book, but not enough to rate more than 🌶️🔥
