Orphaned at 16. Estranged from her only sibling. Betrayed by the one man she's ever loved.

When Abigail Stone moves to the small town of Crow's Peak, she is expecting to leave her ghosts behind and create a new life for herself. A fresh start. She is not expecting to be abducted and held captive by a madman.

When small-town cop Cooper McAllister is forced to work at his father's bar one night, he is intrigued by the mysterious new girl with violet eyes. Haunted eyes. He wonders if she's had a bad day, or if she's had a bad life. He finds out sooner than he expects when she goes missing that same night.

Finding Abby is just the beginning. The only way to truly save her is to unravel her secrets - a task that proves to be more challenging than he could ever anticipate. But nothing is more challenging than fighting the growing feelings that begin to form as Cooper is forced to get close to the enigmatic Abigail Stone.

Her life is on the line - and so are their hearts.

This booked pulled at my heartstrings. My heart broke for Abby through out the story. Cooper was AMAZING…loved him. When secrets are revealed Abby gets all the answers to the unknown. The mystery behind her abductor had me hooked. I just needed all the answers.

This was just ok, not my favorite Jennifer Hartman book. It was a bit twisty and the last 25% bumped it up to a 3.25

I liked the story however it was a little boring. Lacked suspense untill the end. Really may have been better with a male narrator as a duet? Still a big fan though and will keep reading more of Jennifer's books.💜

This one was too drawn out

Another amazing story by Jennifer, she has a way of sucking you into the story and not letting you go till the end. This was another heart wrenching story about grief, loss and healing. I had never heard of the narrator before but she did really well at bringing these characters to life!

Another amazing story!

For some reason, this book was really slow for me. I don't particularly hate third person Narration, but listening to it, threw me off quite a bit not being able to see when the perspective changed.
