This is my December. I’m not being naive or overly optimistic. I have it on good authority that this year, I will meet my soulmate and fall madly in love. The matchmaker who raised me said that it’ll happen by this Winter’s Solstice. Merry Christmas to me, right?

Wrong.

Because the man who just slid into my kitchen at midnight, unarmed me with his charming smile, and lit me up while licking frosting from my fingers is the newest investor in The TimeKeeper Inn. Gray Turner, the disgraced professional baseball player, wants to renovate and take over the place I call home.

There’s no way that he could possibly be “the one,” even if I do happen to feel some kind of magic every time he’s near. I’ll ignore the fact that his gruff and stoic demeanor melts away only for me. I have to remind myself that I need to keep my heart open for my soulmate because Gray isn't staying. I want that forever kind of love. But what if forever isn’t part of our plan?

What if soulmate-level love is just for the holidays?

December Nights is a soulmates holiday romance. It was short, sweet, and sexy. There was some mysticism in the plot. The hero and heroine had chemistry. Victoria Wilder is becoming a go to author for me.

Enjoyable

Excellent narration from Savannah Peachwood and Tor Thom.

Grumpy Gray isn't happy with what's transpired in his professional athlete post-injury life. He's focused on himself and what he thinks the world is thinking about him.

He and his brother have entered into a partnership with Tash to improve her inn in upstate Maine, along with property purchases all over town. They only plan to stay through December, but the first night when Gray sees Aurora dancing around the kitchen, it's like he's been struck with Cupid's arrow.

And maybe he has? Maybe there isn't real magic in the world. Maybe there is, and you can find it in this insta-love short holiday novella.

I have always enjoyed Savannah Peachwood but the male narrator is a no go. I have listened to him before but this time it was so bad I couldn’t finish the audiobook. He has joined Erin Mallon on my “No Listen” list.

I just can’t with the male narrator
