my 2nd Outlander

My wife and daughter have read all the books in the Outlander series that are available. And, after observing them read and read and read, I decided to give them a chance. I enjoyed tis book but it seemed to last forever. They seemed to be in France forever. There are 3 parts to these stores; one part sci-fi, a second part romance, and the thired historical. Diana Gabaldon does seem to weave them into an enjoyable tale. I will go to book three, Voyager, but only after taking a break with 2-3 different Audible books in between.

Fantastic, entertaining, and the narration is perfect! I feel like I was right there...in fact, in the continuing series, I feel like they are part of my family. Best book and following series that I have read (heard) in a long time.

Great story, awful narrator

I love this book, but the women they picked to narrate it sounded like somebody's grandmother, not a women in her twenties! I was really annoyed by her and could barley stand to listen. They need to get another narrator and re-record the book.

What does Davina Porter bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The Narration was fantastic! Made it very believable and held my attention. Superb Job I am now a fan!

Any additional comments?

The book was pretty good all around, I'm a guy and found it to be a good listen. It does have a number of sex scenes in it which caught me off guard, especially when listening to it in my car with the windows down....lol But overall if you like the idea of time travel, Scotland, England and a great story check it out! There is even a 45 minute preview of the second book at the end of the one I downloaded.

I'm on the 3rd book of the series

I'm still astonished at the different personalities, their sense of humor, the love, and the compassion; but now we also see some history and politics involved in this great love story. As soon as I sign off, I'm starting the 3rd book and can't wait to see what happens next. A warning... now I'm actually laughing out loud at some of the funny dialogue. Subtle, but funny!
