They were trapped by evil, horrible Jaeggi mages for 10 long years until they were rescued by the brave dragon named Gunter. The grumpy red knight swept in, carrying them off to a fair castle, where they lived happily ever after. That's how the story's supposed to go, anyway. Nikki would really like to have that fairytale ending, please and thank you.

It's too bad Gunter is oblivious and the Jaeggi are interfering. Nikki may just have to cook up some explosions to help both situations along, because they're determined to get their happily ever after.

Excellent series (Embers)

Enjoyed this entire series from the first paragraph to the last. In fact, I was glad that it ended the way it did to tie the ending back to the beginning five books ago. I like these authors and I now have a better listening device so I can enjoy Joel Leslie at his best. I'm not giving anything away but I can say that I've never been into dragons or creatures much and I'm usually not into epic battles either, but this series had me listening to all of it. The middle books, focused on different MCs, are more like reading an epic suspense novel related somewhat to espionage and individuals involved in that process too. I'm guessing this is what held my interest most, as well as the great imaginative writing. Often entertaining. Highly recommended.

Best accents ever

I cant say how much I enjoyed these novels, Joel Leslie is a master of accents, I have to also say as an African I was impressed by the way he tried the African accent the Asian too was awesome. The books totally took over my life and I read all 4 in a week
