Stunning and Unique Classic Story

Narrated by Noah Wall and you all know how much I love her narrating skills!! Phenomenal!

*As I returned the reins, my hand covered hers, and —curse my weakened resolve— I didn’t immediately let go. Our eyes met, and the moment stretched out with her hand in mine, the warmth of my skin building until it reached a fevered heat. I finally forced myself to release her.

I knew without a shadow of a doubt that I’d love Rachel’s debut! I mentioned finally getting this read in through audio and she happily joined my impromptu buddy read to give us BTS and will still give us more and I couldn’t be happier.

Set in 16th century, this German version of the iconic Snow White Fairy Tale was all its own. Unique, surprising, and still giving the fairy tale vibes. I couldn’t leave this story so I listened to it twice! Beautiful. Just breathtakingly beautiful.

Margaretha punishing herself for something that happened when she was a child she is constantly guilted into paying for that sin. Never able to forgive herself she atones by trying to free her brother when he is captured and imprisoned. Luckily she knows her worth and finds the strength to forgive herself.

“I forgive you, Margaretha.”

Friedrich, oh Friedrich the swoony huntsman guided by pain he needs time to heal and oh the journey he goes on and realizations that surface when it’s most needed. His love for Margaretha was melt worthy.

“I must confess that I …” He ducked his gaze, the rest of his words coming out in a rush. “I have developed feelings for you. And I’m asking you to stay.”

Prince Felipe was such an interesting character and Belinda was so devious while at the same time, her own past and unstable life brought on the series of events.

Thank you! Thank you Rachel for persevering. This story is lovely, rounded, beautiful, well researched, interesting and could only be told by you. I loved every moment.

Blend of history and fairy tale

This story has masterfully woven history and fairy tale together. It's a story of love, forgiveness, redemption, betrayal, and family. Friedrich and Margaretha have a rocky start but eventually learn to love, trust, and forgive each other. A beautiful tale from a debut author! I look forward to reading more by this author.

Excellent Debut

I don't always like audiobooks, and prefer just to read. However, I had seen the voice actor praised on social media and I was curious. I went ahead and bought the audio version and was not disappointed. She did an incredible job with the accents and pronunciations. I also didn't cringe at her masculine voices like I do for so many others.
The story itself was remarkable. It's by far my favorite Snow White retelling and I look forward to anything else this author puts out in the future.

I finished this in two days! Couldn’t stop listening! You are completely invested in the characters and the story from the start and each nod to the beloved fairy tale is like an exciting little Easter egg. Every element of the story is so well written and the audio performance was so immersive with the genuine accent. Loved it!
