The dark reveals all secrets.

Lonnie Skyeborne is a liar and proud of it. From the moment she was born, her mother sensed there was something extraordinary about her daughter and taught her to never reveal the truth of who she is. But now, Lonnie is alone and trapped in her own web of lies.

She is the queen in name only, and afraid to trust anyone, even the princes who claim to be her allies. She still has four deadly hunts to complete before she can escape her bargains with the Everlast family, and meanwhile war is looming in the country of Elsewhere. Trusting someone—anyone—and revealing her secrets may save her life, but it could also spell doom for generations to come.

So, who to trust?

Prince Bael, Lonnie's beautiful but dangerous part-time ally. Prince Scion, the wicked and powerful former heir to the throne. Prince Gwydion, the brilliant and manipulative healer.

Or, perhaps, a new ally could make themselves known under the cover of darkness.

Contains mature themes.

Woman’s voice threw me off a little. Drug out a bit. But I sped up the voice and it seemed to work out a little better!

Cliff hanger

This is book two in the Wilde Fae series and I love it just as much as book one!

I have been working through this series with the audiobooks and have loved every minute of it! The narrators have done a great job immersing you into this fae world. I feel the casting was done perfectly and I couldn’t imagine Lonnie, Scion or Bael sounding any differently.

I know an audiobook is good when I look for reasons to go out for errands to listen to the book in my car! I even started building a Lego set just to listen to the last two hours!

This book focuses a lot on the growing relationship between Lonnie and Scion. I missed seeing Bael but knew I just needed to wait it out a bit to get the answers to his secrets!

Lonnie and Scion are both soo stubborn and I enjoyed them butting their heads together too much. Their loathing leads to such a fierce and strong chemistry that has left me needing more of them!

This is a why choose series and although we have some dirty talking princes the relationships themself are a more of a slow burn that had me yearning for more!

Great second book in the series!

I liked this book for its sequel properties, while the middle slowed a bit for my liking (hence 4 stars) its novelty, performance, character building and ending make up for it. This series deserves more recognition in the fantasy romance genre.

Well written sequel

This was so freaking good I feel like I enjoyed every minute of it. Ok, don’t get me wrong the Queen is so ignorant, so uninformed uh so frustrating at times BUT I did see some progress and I did enjoy the writing, the characters, the world building all in all it was so good. A lot was answered but so much more was left uncertain that I need just a little more.

So enjoyable!!!

Enjoying this story, the characters, the world, the magic. Looking forward to learning more secrets and more of the history. Hoping for more romance and fun in that area.

The female narrator is old with dentures and I cannot get over it when Lonnie is supposed to be early 20’s. Stewart is great which is why the performance doesn’t get less stars.

Having fun with this story
