A magic user on the run. A sleepy small town filled with shifters, witches and vampires. Will Lucas find refuge, a fated mate, or death?

Lucas used to be a normal person. Was it really so bad that he had a job he didn't like, and he still lived with his parents? At least he didn't have balls of light shooting out of him. Oh wait. Yes, he does. And he's not sure why it's happening or what to do about it. But it gets worse. Way worse and deadlier than Lucas had ever thought possible.

Running for his life, he ends up in a small town named Saint Lakes and right into the arms of a dragon shifter who claims to be his fated mate.

Bennett enjoys his life as a boat mechanic in his sleepy hometown. He isn't looking for disruptions. When Lucas comes to town, the last thing he expects is for the sweet, smaller man to be is a witch. He also doesn't expect blood thirsty vampires either. Bennett will risk everything to protect his town, his clan, and his heart.

Everyone wants a piece of the witch. It's up to Bennett to keep him safe, but how can he when the enemy keeps getting closer.

Contains mature themes.

I’m interested enough that I’ll probably read more in the series, but maybe as ebooks instead. The narrator wasn’t bad exactly, but his reading felt a bit monotonous and unemotional.

Ok story, not my favourite narrator.

This book was very generic and hopefully not intended for adults. The basics of the story felt very contrived and the plot was so predictable. After listening to this book I can basically format an outline of how each new book in this series will go. The narrator didn’t blow me away, but also is not the reason for my dislike of the book, he was just unremarkable. The book is free at the time of this review, but I don’t recommend spending a credit on books written by this author.

Cookie-cutter, paranormal mates story

This book might be for teens rather than adults. Has a lot of foul language, bisexuality. The story will skip often from one thought to another.

teen novel

Very 1 dimensional and contrived. The story, lacks depth and basic foundations to stand on. There is simultaneously an ask of the reader to make great leaps and connections while at the same time, leaving out very obvious and immediate understanding of the main character situation which a 14-year-old would easily make within a single page. This is easily the worst book I have read in the last 50 books.

It is simply desperate to pander to every common teen trope while doing every single one of them poorly, and a disservice.

I would absolutely avoid to the extent that you could not pay me if I had known better than to read it.

Very 1 dimensional and of a body of a good writer.
