The book is a wild mix of murder investigations, secret vampire politics, steamy tension, and moments that made me snort-laugh.

The audiobook is mostly in duet narration (though some side characters are included in dual style, depending on the chapter’s main narrator).
Teddy Hamilton absolutely nails Zavier’s unhinged charm. Casey Holloway (new to me, though her voice feels familiar) is the perfect balance to it.

Celine is a tough, smart detective trying to solve a string of gruesome murders while holding her life together. She’s got a sharp mind, a soft heart, and a cat named Midnight, who’s both adorable and slightly terrifying.
Zavier is a three-hundred-year-old gorgeous vampire. He’s totally obsessed with Celine in the funniest, cutest, and creepiest way possible 😂.
And Midnight? Totally his biggest advocate.

The only annoying subplot was Zavier’s “breeding” thoughts, which made me want to throw my phone across the room. It was absolutely unnecessary and way too repetitive. Otherwise, this story had me fully hooked.

10/10 for chaos, blood, and unexpected tenderness.
Can’t wait for Valen and bubbly Ava’s story!

Fantastic story

One of the best stories I have read or rather listened to, and both actors were superb!!! I am so happy to have found them and the author. I am getting all of their books!

Biting good fun

Interesting tale that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Some innocents are killed by the MMC and that is off-putting. Spice takes a while to get moving. It gets there in the end. A couple of things the characters suspect are never acted on.
An original vampire origin story. Over all cute tale of a sunshine, over-protective MMC.

I actually LOL'd so many times.

The narrators both did so so good. The story was great. Laughed out loud, kicked my feet, teared up, and laughed more. I cannot wait for the second book!!!
