A Girl. An Earl. A Battle of Wits . . .

Miss Amelia Fleming has a very good reason to hate the Earl of Langley. A year ago, her father drowned in the Thames after losing a fortune to Langley at cards. Now her family is broke, her fiance has broken their engagement, and the debt still hasn't been paid. Someone has to deal with the earl, but Amelia's brother doesn't have the nerve and her mother has fled to France. It's no business for a gently bred young lady, but the Earl of Langley is about to learn that Amelia Fleming is not your typical young lady . . .

Miss Fleming Falls in Love is a sweet, sparkling Regency romp about a misunderstood nobleman who meets his match in a spirited and unconventional heroine. Perfect for fans of Georgette Heyer and Bridgerton!

I normally read mysteries but this story was about more than boy meets girl, it was about doing the right thing & family values. Yes there was enough intrigue to satisfy my curiosity all tied up with a happy ending.

Well developed story & characters

The diary reading at beginning of each chapter is great. I like how the heroine is both bold & innocent, honorable & humble, realistic/practical & hopeful. I love how the hero is sacrificial & hopeful, amused & indulgent, uses gentle subterfuge & is still honest.

Funny & Sweet

Witty banter and a host of colorful characters keep this entertaining novel moving. The reader was excellent as well. I have one request from this young author: More, please. More!

Absolutely great find! Looking for more from this talented witty author.

This book was satisfying in its ability to entertain right on time. Just as parts began to be dull, something funny or unexpected happened. What lacked for me was I felt the author’s voice sometimes when Robert was speaking or reacting, despite having a male narrator. The hero had too many feminine qualities or rather he was too good to be true. Very few authors know how to do it right, but some do, such as Sofi Laporte and Joan Smith. I think this author has potential and can get there. It had some nice Georgette Heyer qualities of wit, but it fell short in giving a rather sappy hero despite him fighting in a duel. I liked Robert but his character was not believable. I liked the narrator despite the odd inflections in his voice in each sentence.

Every time I wanted to give up on story, a new funny situation arose

This is a clever, witty book, written better than most in this genre. The narrator is okay but sometimes dampens the wit with his sing-song cadence. He could use more nuance to represent the subtle humor and upbeat tone. However, he does well enough, and it didn’t affect my interest in this decently written story. I’ll look forward to more from this author.
