A shadowy figure starts terrorizing the land and threatens to destroy everything we've built and everyone I love. The three of us need to work together in order to conquer the new evil afloat in Brinnswick, but nothing is easy when something lurks in the shadows and around every corner.

Thrilled we finally got it!

I absolutely adore this entire series and every spinoff that is done of it as well! I’ve waited for what feels like forever to get the second book in this series set on Audible. The narrator did a fantastic job. I honestly like this narrator a lot better than the one that did Thayer. I loved the story and the larger developments in this new plot for the series as well as seeing the other characters post war from the preceding series.
I hope we dont have to wait long before Basil gets an audio version! Even if I already have them on Kindle it has been nice to have it in audio form too!

Nikolai

Nikolai has a warm heart, a poly romance, and poignant chosen family moments, but the sweetness often overpowers the depth. The love between Delaro, Grayson, and Nikolai feels genuine and endearing, though much of the story hovers in comfort zones rather than pushing stakes beyond personal hurt. The shadowy threat lurking in Brinnswick is intriguing, but it rarely breaks through to shift the emotional core—too many hugs, too many intimate conversations, not enough danger that feels earned. It’s a lovely read if you want romance and affection; just don’t expect the same grit or narrative urgency some of the others bring.

Too much sweetheart!

Boring and ridiculous with all the sweetness and sweetheart, and hugging and handholding. The only saving grace was the amazing narrator.
