Griff Hosker is a guilty pleasure, his heroes never die or make stupid mistakes and they always come out smelling like a English Rose…

Griff Hosker is a great story teller. Yet again.

The book puts me in the time and space of medieval England in the Scottish borderlands. It feels realisticly harsh but the author adds enough feel good elements for me not to give up on reading. Great main characters and story pacing.

Top notch storytelling and brilliant narration

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed all Mr. Hosker’s novels and now this one prompts a comment. The seamless way in which he wove this story between the two perspectives, Sir Thomas’s and Sir Williams’s, was a joy to unravel. Well done sir! Now for a glass of wine and the beginning of the next book in series. Thoroughly chuffed!

This is the 10th book of Hosker’s I have listened to and it may be the best.
