The only thing worse than fearing a monster is falling for one …

Kierse McKenna just shattered the Monster Treaty. Again.

It wasn’t entirely her fault. The job was supposed to be simple: steal a goblin-made bracelet off of the Queen of the Nymphs in her own palace. Trade the bracelet for a way to uncover the truth about her past. Except everything goes sideways.

And then he shows up to save her.

Graves—the warlock who ensnared her, betrayed her, and left her to fend for herself. He’s a villain. A monster draped in charm and shadows. And gods help her, he always knows exactly what she wants.

But Graves never does anything for free. He has a job for his favorite little thief. One that will pit her against the most powerful monsters in existence, including his mortal enemy, the Oak King.

An ancient artifact has been located, and only together can they hope to steal it. She just has to let him in.

But once she lets a monster in, he’s impossible to forget … and even harder to resist.

This book was just as exciting as book 1! I absolutely loved this book. This book begins where book 1 ends with Kierse traveling to Ireland to learn more about her family. She wants space from Graves learning that she cannot trust him or her feelings for him. She is also not sure about Lorcan and his involvement in her life. She is confused on who she can trust.

We begin with Kierse taking on a new heist (stealing a bracelet), and becasue of this heist, she reunites with Graves (he saves her). She decides to stick with him despite her distrust of him. Back in NYC, she also has to confront Lorcan since he has been training Ethan, and she wants to be sure he is safe. The attraction between Kierse and Lorcan is undeniable, but Kierse wants to keep her distance....I sensed a love triangle...could that be right????

Kierse falls back into Graves's clutches when they decide to take on a heist together...she is convinced he only wants her for her thieving skills...while he tries to convince her that he has true feelings for her. He is determined to rebuild their trust.

All the while, Kierse is still trying to learn more about her family and Graves will do whatever he needs to help her. And he does! What does this mean for Lorcan?!!?!

Well, we find out some crazy information about those two...that leads to a lot of information learned and choices Kierse must make.

So many twists and turns. There are so many surprises and the ending is INSANE!!!! I am feral for book 3. And still reeling over that ending.

Who can you trust??

Oh this one was good! I enjoyed the first one, but this one brought so much more. You discovered the truth about what really happens to Kierse. Her relationship with Graves, even though it started rocky, grew and developed. She learned to trust him and he learned to be more open and not rely on his powers to get what he wants. Lorcan showed his true colors! Is Graves actually a hero?? Need book 3!

What a freaking awesome book. I loved both books. Such a good book I love the fact that Graves is becoming more human and loving Kierse instead of trying to manipulate her mind. I wish I could read it all like I didn’t just finish it.

Can I read it again for the first time please!

I absolutely loved the first book. I started this book thinking I would remember where I was in the story and it next clicked. I tried reading the spoiler overview on kindle and the last 1hr of book one and still felt like I was missing something. I ended up doing a full reread of both books just to connect. The author does recap book one in the first few chapters but I think it was missing the feelings of character dynamics which left me with the feeling like I couldn’t connect.
Lots more spicy in this book 🌶️🌶️🌶️.5
Definitely some interesting developments in the story. But unfortunately for me it never made me feel connected or like I had to continue. So I would be continuing the series. But! It is still a really good book. And I would recommend.

Had a tough time
