When civilization collapsed, love became the only thing worth saving.

In the aftermath of a world gone dark, Alex and Claire have built a fragile sanctuary in the mountains—two survivors bound by necessity, desire, and the unspoken fear that the outside world will find them. But when their supplies run out, they’re forced to descend into the ruins of Millbrook, a once-sleepy town now ruled by ruthless factions who trade food and medicine through deadly “trials.”

Alex’s medical skills make her a prize. Claire’s youth makes her a target. And together, they become hunted.
As the brutal new order closes in, Alex and Claire must navigate betrayal, violence, and the painful question of whether love can survive in a world that rewards only the savage. Torn between isolation and resistance, the women’s choices will decide not just their fate—but the fate of what remains of humanity.

Emotionally charged, suspenseful, and hauntingly sensual, When the World Turns Savage continues the acclaimed sapphic dystopian thriller series that began with When the World Goes Dark.

Love is their rebellion. Survival is their test.

There's more inconsistencies and repeitiveness in this book than the first. Also from one sentence to the next, the pov changes between characters which adds more confusion. I do like the story and it could have been something great but the editing is just sad. You do find out what's happening in the communities around them, so I was pretty happy about that. I feel the ending is setting up for a third novel, at which sadly I probably won't listen to.

...skipped 6 chapters for the ending

I can listen to pretty much anything but this book was so repetitive. I’m not a huge fan of AI voice but usually I can get through it when the story is engaging. This story was just plain boring. It had potential to be very good. The storyline premise was interesting but the execution was lacking.

I dont know how many times I checked to see if I had somehow switched to a different part of the book. Alex was captured, next chapter Alex is tracking Claire... what?!? how many times do the have a 1st kiss? how many times do they discover for the 1st time why Alex is a target?!? wow, that was rough.

very inconsistent. hard to track storyline. repetitive

Strong resilient women and how they thrived rather than surviving. Well written. Would prefer a real narrator rather than virtual

Details of surviving, resilience of strong women characters
