When you find something precious, you defend it with your life.

Eden

Where I come from, there's no forgiveness for a whistleblower, even if I saved countless lives. Unemployed with a wrecked reputation, my only option is a pity job as a leadership consultant for a secret, government-employed team of assassins.

After moving clear across the country, I thought I'd feel safe from the ones who want revenge for my so-called valor, but then I met him. Linc. The ghost in the shadows, who will never be seen for the hero he is.

I should probably be intimidated by the most lethal assassin Paladin employs, except the monster has the kindest eyes when he's looking at me. Still, the question remains of who I should fear more…

The ones who are after me or the ones who promised to protect me.

Linc

I love the way she screams my name, but I like how she whispers it, too.

I vowed to never get attached, but Eden has a hold on me that no one has before. She's the light, and until her, I didn't realize how lonely the darkness is.

Forget Paladin's rules. I refuse to let her go. I've finally found what's precious to me, and now I have to keep her close, defend her fiercely. She's mine to pleasure and protect.

Whoever keeps threatening Eden's life is going to lose theirs.

Whistleblower is book one in the Paladin series. It is a spicy, touch-her-and-die, romantic suspense with a morally gray alpha hero. Intended for mature listeners.

This book is an excellent read with many twists and turns that keep you hooked. Eden's character is intriguing and adds a lot to the story, but there were aspects of her that I found frustrating. At times, her naivety and emotional responses seemed a bit over-the-top and unrealistic. Despite claiming to only trust Link, Eden often found herself in questionable situations and made decisions that felt out of character or overly dramatic.

Though these elements were bothersome, they didn't overshadow the overall experience. The book is still a must-read and definitely worth the credit and purchase. The emotional depth and complexity of the plot make it a compelling story, even if some character choices were puzzling.

Really good book !

I really enjoyed this book! I love how it is not too dark but dark enough to have me sitting at the edge of my seat.

Wow I loved this one!! This book delivered on everything I want in a romantic suspense - action, suspense, and spicy romance. Eden was the whistleblower of her company when she found information regarding terroristic plans, so she went to the FBI with the information. Rather than being seen as a hero, she was seen as someone who destroyed people’s careers. The FBI kept things under wraps and she had to sign a NDA so her reputation was tanked. Linc was one of Vesper’s recruits when he was 16 years old. He becomes an assassin who helps the FBI get rid of people the FBI can’t catch. They’re called Paladin but they have no connection to the government, until now when they started working directly with the FBI. Enter Eden, who was hired to be the HR person for Paladin. Linc and Eden fall for each other pretty quickly. They have amazing chemistry and they connect on a deeper, emotional level. I loved how completely opposite they are but so perfect they are for each other. A lot more happens in the story but Linc and Eden are there for each other through it all and I love how much they care for one another! The audiobook was fantastic! I really enjoyed the narrators voices. Both were newer to me and I think they did a great job portraying all the different emotions the characters were going through. I am very excited to see where this series is going!
