Lucas Mead-Slayer is closing in on his vision of a perfect life. What started out as a relatively simple encounter with two highly attractive women trying to survive in the frozen wilderness is now rapidly becoming more complicated for Chris. His relationship with Lara and Susan is growing into something much more complex and emotional, and on top of that, Jessica has just arrived on their doorstep with her daughter Hannah. She reveals that she has left her neglectful husband for good, and consequently needs a place to stay.

Two weeks have passed since the last direct assault on his new home, and a string of bad blizzards have kept him from doing much more than making occasional ventures into the wilderness to look for supplies. But now the blizzards have passed, and he and his friends are determined. They've painted a target on the thieves that have terrorized this region for the past several months, and intend to eliminate them.

The pressure of time is more urgent than ever before as Jak faces a new threat to his bond-mates, his tribe, and every living thing on the island. Though his alliances are strong and he has now made peace with the Tolvar tribe, something more sinister lurks in the darker places of Ara Island. Calling on an unlikely ally, Jak is determined to dig up the truth of how the embyr control the karn, and stop them once and for all.

Six weeks have passed since the official founding of the settlement known as Haven. In that time, things have settled into a nice routine for David and the ladies in his life. He's been surprised to learn that he actually makes a half-decent village leader, though he imagines some of that has to do with the fact that he shares the job with three very capable women. But things have been going well.

Chris, Hannah, and Megan braved the icy horrors of the frozen wastelands. They fought for their lives, endured brutal conditions, and managed to find exactly what they were looking for: a forgotten bunker full of precious resources. Unfortunately, the bunker was just a temporary stop-gap. The slow death of starvation still looms on the horizon for the denizens of Pine Lake. If they can't figure out some way of solving the problem, they'll lose everything.

What remains of Pine Lake is a dead end, and the best hope for Chris, the women he loves, and the denizens of the settlement now lay in a town of preppers living on an island a few hundred miles to the north. All of their faith is now being put into that settlement, and the train that Chris discovered and Fay repaired. Even with a mostly functional train and a lot of luck, it will still be a long journey. Any number of dangers, environmental, animal, and human, could lay in between them and their destination.

Doom has come to Ara Island. As the first snow of the cold days begins to fall from slate gray skies, a massive burst of dark magic is released. His plans cast aside, his tribe broken, his world thrown into blood-drenched chaos, Jak plunges into the dark maw of certain death to save who he can.

Victor is really starting to settle into his new life in the Hinterlands. His relationships with Fiona the snake-girl viper, Jezzy the succubus, and Nyx the eight-foot dragoness are all going well. The inn is coming along nicely. And he's become close friends with a few other beautiful women. But his new life of loving monster girls isn't quite ready. They still have a recovering necromancer who has yet to awaken from her comatose state, and they still owe a goddess a dangerous favor. Soon begins the quest to find enough allies to not die fulfilling that favor.

Though it was a long, difficult journey to get here, Ethan’s life has never been better. He helped save Wayport, more than once. He has a new home, fame and fortune, and four wonderful women to build a life with. Everything is going fantastically, so why can’t he shake this feeling of imminent dread?

In the wake of the successful attack on the group of raiders that had been harassing the whole region for months on end, including burning down River View, David and his group realize that now is no time to rest. If anything, the time has come to step up their game and start taking their role as community leaders more seriously.

After a series of accidents and a run of poor luck, culminating in a freak storm, Chris has returned home to learn that the place he intended to settle down is no longer capable of sustaining life in any long-term fashion. To make matters worse, Megan led a team off on a desperate expedition to follow a modern day treasure map to what they hope to be a cache of supplies locked away in a remote prepper's bunker.

After tackling the dual menaces of the stalkers and the vipers, they have at last secured peace for themselves. And though the days turned into weeks, and the weeks into months, a blessedly boring routine settling in, David has stayed vigilant. He knows that nothing lasts forever, and peace can be snatched away in an instant.

The Marauders have been driven out. Haven is safe. Sanctuary is safe. David and the women he loves and his people are safe. For now. Times are changing, and they are going to have to change with them. David can't help but feel that the end of an era is upon him, and the dawn of a new age is coming. Right now is an intermission, a time of transition, a time of reflection. They've all come a long way. They're all different people now. As he goes about preparing for whatever may come, David makes sure to spend time with each of the women in his life...
