John, a vampire who has lived for nearly six thousand years, continues his journey of self-cultivation and survival. His past, however, comes to haunt him in the form of Lilly, his wife. Although she claims to want to help John assist humans in the fight against the invasion, a sinister cold-dark force means he can't be sure of her. Struggling to survive, John must continue to cultivate his skills as effectively as possible.

John and his companions need to make careful choices as a new threat looms closer. With many battles ahead of John, he needs to find out if he has what it takes to destroy armies of demons, dark ones, and far more powerful foes. And as John's power becomes stronger, the moral choices he makes have greater consequence.

Will John and his companies become closer to unlocking the mysteries of the Tree of Life?

so I just finished both the first book in this book and in my opinion this is probably one of the better books would make a suggestion to the author to have the status screens optional as a sub chapter or something that way we could skip them if we don't want to listen to them but beyond that I enjoyed it greatly I actually love the fact that the vampire actually feels like a vampire in the sense that he's 6,000 years old or older he's having a hard time adapting to modern day and the way he views reality is completely different from the way that everybody else does also enjoy the fact that he uses older terms of words correctly and the World building is pretty nice I look forward to the next book I hope it comes out soon

probably one of my favorite books

Same great narration providing a very different experience than reading the book had. More characterization, going deep into each prior character and the new ones and great adventure.

Love book 2 much more than 1. Highly recommended

Its about the same as the first, the narration carries and the idea and world building are interesting. The mechanics are a bit confusing to pluck out of the air when listening vs reading, at least for me. I mostly enjoyed myself but I did get pretty fed up with John when it comes to how he feels about the 2 ladies of the story. The final section and end and epilogue all kinda killed it for me, I don’t think I will continue but I would say it was worth the credit

Worth a listen but

First book was better. Child stuff was cringe. Ending chapters were really hard to listen to.
