So good .

This is an amazing read. I couldn't help but get lost in the story. I can't wait to start the next book.

Fun Gothic; Great Narration

Wonderfully gothic.

Darcie is a young gentlewoman down on her luck. She obtains a maid-of-all-work position in the household of Dr Damien Cole and eventually becomes an illustrator for his anatomical studies. The novel is set in Victorian London during the time of Jack the Ripper and there are similar murders in Whitechapel.

The author does a good job of setting up Darcie so she doesn't know whether the doctor is evil, or whether she should listen to her heart which is telling her to fall in love with him. Classic gothic struggle!

The attraction between Darcie and Damien was a little weak, and the middle of the book dragged, but overall it was a fun plunge into the gothic world of Victorian London. And the narrator was fantastic.

Did someone call for a Doctor!

I enjoyed the story. The mystery held my attention. The MFC was overly insecure which was annoyed me. The MMC was the best character. He was moody and mysterious yet kind and protective, just how ladies like them. Overall I was satisfied.

Suspenseful steamy romance

This book was well written and the characters were well developed. It had a lot of suspense and steam and I thoroughly enjoyed it. narration (I felt) was excellent.

This story kept me on the edge of my seat

I loved the story setting being in old London, England. The whole book was breathtaking. I loved the narrator also.
