An Amazing Start

A new-to-me narrator, and a longtime fave author, I’ve been quite excited for this series to finally be in audio and Jamal delivers a fantastic performance.

Kade is an abused omega running from his past, and Blake is an overwhelmed alpha atoning for past mistakes his family made. I appreciate a book that has tension and drama without the angst just being two characters that refuse to talk to each other. I appreciate while the overarching story is clearly ongoing, this book still feels complete by the end.

The narration also hits a perfect balance between emotive and clear character expression without being overly dramatic or feeling theatrical. Looking forward to the next book.
