In the late 1800s, deep in the woods of a small New England town, something was called forth for the purposes of revenge and death. Something evil, something bloodthirsty, something unstoppable. Now, what has lain dormant for over a century has been released on four unsuspecting teens trying to enjoy a quiet weekend alone. All they want to do is watch some movies and play some games. But their fun is cut short, and what starts as a series of strange and unsuspecting events soon turns into a bloodbath in which no one is safe. Hunter, Josh, Gemma, and Kailyn have only hours to figure out how to survive, because the Hobbomock is getting closer, and if it feeds, the world will never be the same.

I like the monster and I liked Carl the nerd but everyone else in this story were as good as cannon fodder. And the whole story I was hoping for the monster to get everyone. Except Carl who is seriously the goat and was done dirty in this story. The girls is this story were also written like total absolute assholes, but I was supposed to like them and hope they survive I guess. But I kept hoping they would have all died. Great creature feature overall. Every character was written like an unlikable prick except Carl and Josh’s dad. But yeah I would recommend this to anyone looking for a fun brief ride.

This was an adventure in imagining.
I found some of them broke new ground in " That one needs to be put in the vault of WTF. " At times you are mentally screaming the horror movies don't oor hurry the fu*k up you don't have time. but it was great builders for what need be done. good Listen

The mental images presented

this book is like a slashermovie from the 2000. gorish, a little predictable, the dialogue is like the actors tries really hard, but they are just a little flat written. not mindblowing, but sometimes a predictable horrorstory is ok.

do i regret listening to the whole thing ? No.
will i ever listen to it again? also no.

it ok.

the narrator was very monotone, not a lot of alteration in his voice for different characters and scenarios. the story was fantastic though.

Great story, bad narration

This book is a straight forward, few frills horror story. Solid writing and good setting. It has the unique attribute of having no characters that suck. Everyone is interesting and most of the decisions they make lend its self well to the horror. There is a bit of a lore/exposition dump near the end but other then that, a solid listen.

Solid Horror Book.
