She wants my help and I want her in my bed.

I'm used to women chasing me, but she's the first one to knock on my front door. Like the gentleman I pretend to be, I let her in—with plans to seduce her, to get her to yield to me.

Then she tells me her life is in danger and asks for my protection in the form of marriage. It'll be nothing more than a front, a guise to mask our intentions. Yet the lust burning in me is real. So is this unusual possessiveness.

And my bride-to-be? She's either a good actress... Or she desires me with a fierceness I've never seen.

To get that from her? To have a part of her no one else has? I'd kill for it. And I may have to because of the threats surrounding us.

This is book two in the Dark & Dirty Vows series which is intended for mature listeners. Welcome to the dark side...

In Book 1, the angsty relationship between the characters keeps readers engaged with the unfolding plot. However, Book 2 is quite different and, unfortunately, dull. So, I struggled to read it from beginning to end, hoping to uncover more about the unspoken truths and feelings from Book 1. Half of this book 2 focuses on the protagonist's poetic inner thoughts, which often repeats the sentiment of wanting something but feeling unable to attain it. Additionally, 25% of the book presents a different plot, while the remaining 25% delves into themes of intimacy.
