Toxic abusive relationship

Author writes quite lovely description, but the characters never resonated with me personally. Take out all the expensive fashion and bottle service and this is basically the story of an emotionally and, sometimes physically, abusive relationship and all the dysfunctional people/addicts around them who enable it. Was not rooting for them. Hoping for them to break up for good and be with the whole book and almost gave up on it. Narration was solid.

I love this series I own it on three different platforms now and I can’t get over the story still so heart wrenching

Emotionally Charged

After physically reading the book I went back in with the audible, boy I am so glad I did. The audible is amazing and adds to the story.

This story felt incredibly realistic, and because of that, I can understand why it might not appeal to everyone. The toxic relationship between Magnolia and BJ was deeply frustrating at times, yet it perfectly captured the truth behind the saying, ‘the heart wants what it wants.’

The detailed outfit descriptions added an extra layer of vividness to the narrative, enhancing the visualization in a way that was truly chef’s kiss.

Anyone who enjoys emotionally charged narratives will love this.
