Soon this ragtag posse of wayfarers is confronting skin-changers, bloodthirsty marauders, and fire-crazed fanatics—determined to discover the true identity of the long-lost heir before the Red Caps release forces powerful enough to destroy Airlann once and for all. But is this band of unlikely heroes strong enough to stand against the descendant of the dreadful Goblin Kings?

Not the same old story

This is just a nice story that is well written.
Also, the author managed to complete the work without bolting a transgender character to the side.

Lots of animalistic characters

Too YA for my taste. Animal humanoids. Knights. Bandits. Soldiers. Toad mounts. Child characters. Battle scenes on bridges. Lots going on. Just too YA for me. Lot Lands are great more mature fantasy books.
