This world never fails to surprise me! I take care of one problem only to be confronted by yet another—my unceasing enemies want what is mine. Is it that hard for them to comprehend that I, the Archmagister of Healing, can't be had so easily? Why, oh why are healers in this world seen as the weakest of the Gifted? It makes no sense to me. In my former world, everybody knew that Healers were to be respected and feared.

Ah, well. It won't be long before they wish they'd never crossed my path. I grow all the more powerful with each new day as I come to better understand this world, so full of possibilities, and so very fun!

Nice building of the counts power base, and he does some personal leveling up into something new and interesting that is very different than what I expected. This one is not quite as funny as the second and third books, I think, but still has that line of humor running through it .
Yes the bird is a little much, but perhaps not as much as the previous book so there is that.

The count is starting to build some alliances, although he’s finding enemies much faster than he’s gaining friends. He has started recruiting from the other world, so that is handy since nobody from Earth wants to work for him.

The relationship between him and Victoria is starting to get off the ground, I actually liked the slow burn here, more believable this way.

What is less believable, is that he doesn’t think to start a smuggling operation and sell his artifacts in a foreign country. He has already run into smugglers once at least, and has enough underworld in roads at this point that he could possibly make a start on that. He isn’t able to sell anything in his own country, because the government will just invade him, but selling in other countries should be possible. He would take a hit on the finances, but half is better than zero.

Strong leveling up entry, not as funny as third book

Mc is till working on puting down his enemys and now it seems he might have to really make a debut to the empire.

Pretty good as always.

Not a bad addition to this series. At least it is keeping its momentum. It gives off the feeling that there will be at least 20 or more books in this series. If it can keep the same quality going through the entire series that won’t be so bad.

Not bad
