Trust no one.
I learn that the hard way after hockey star Carter Masters stabs me in the back and turns our rival school against me.
Suddenly, I'm public enemy number one at Framingham State. Just a year later, that's exactly where I'm forced to enroll.
No one has forgotten what I did. The anti-Sydney campaign is led by two gorgeous, psycho hockey players. Oliver Ruiz, captain, and Penn Walker, the devastating goalie.
They have me in their sights the moment I step foot on their campus. Where they lead, the rest of the students follow. They won't stop until I'm gone and Carter's team faces payback.
My only solace from the constant bullying comes from a blocked number that keeps texting me.
As much as Oliver and Penn want to, they can't drive me off completely. Because even at the worst moments, I know I'm not going anywhere.
After all, I'm their coach's daughter.

The audio was pretty good. It would have been great in duet/full cast narration. But it was pretty good.
I probably won't revisit this one.
just ok

Naturally, the plays become public knowledge. Oh, and did I mention Sydney is the rival team coach’s daughter? You can imagine why things get messy when she ends up transferring to that very school.
That said… these 19–20-year-olds are *unhinged.*
**Sydney Windsor** - our FMC. I alternated between wanting to wrap her in bubble wrap and wanting to sign her up for self-defense classes. Her survival instinct? Practically nonexistent. I get that she has a thing for primal play (masked men, adrenaline, the whole nine yards), but sis—your *literal life* is at stake. Call the police. Tell your dad. Even her guys lost it when they discovered what actually happened (*cough cough* looking at you, Carter).
**Oliver Ruiz** - Big no. I never warmed up to him, and honestly, nothing he could’ve done would’ve redeemed him if I were in Sydney’s shoes.
**Penn Walker** - I’ll admit, at first I didn’t mind him (mostly because he seemed safer than Oliver). But once his kinks were revealed with zero conversation about Syd’s consent ... that safety net shattered.
**Carter Masters** - Sign me up, stalker boy. Of the three, he’s the only one even remotely redeemable.
That being said, this is firmly *dark romance, why choose* territory. I actually loved the banter and eventual “brohood” between Penn and Carter. Could they have ditched Oliver? 100%.
As for the ratio? About 85% smut, 10% plot, and 5% filler.
I’ll admit I’m biased with my rating: without the narrators, this would have landed closer to 3 stars. But the casting? Phenomenal. (Special shoutout to Alex Kydd and Alyssa Avery = fire.) Normally I dislike books that make me feel physically sick with emotion, but here? I couldn’t stop listening. I’d pause in my car just to swear at the dashboard, then hop over to Spotify for a breather before diving right back in. The fact that the author can drag that kind of reaction out of me says something. Conflicted? Yes. Entertained? Also yes.
**Trigger Warnings**
Dark romance, why choose, hockey backdrop.
* Bullying
* Stalking
* Dubcon / Noncon
* Somnophilia
* Attempted assault
* Torture, brief but intense
* Self-harm

Wow! That was crazy!… but sooo good😊😏👏🏻

Why:
Female narrator - voice was flat and monotone, no idea what drove her decisions, felt zero emotion or chemistry, it was like she was just there for the next guy to f her. She narrated like 80% of the book and what felt like the first 5 hours so it was painful to listen.
Male narrators - Huge fan of Teddy Hamilton and Carter. I wish it was duet narration - at least the sex scenes would have been hotter.
Storyline - the mom plot was unnecessary, except the bracelet (which is what started this whole spiral of events). If Sidney was so close to these guys, WHY didn’t she confess to Oliver that’s what she was looking for when she broke in. And at the very end it was like a blip, “ heres your bracelet”. Weird.
I’ve read quad stories that were so much sexier because of the chemistry between all the characters. Aside from maybe 3 quad scenes it was just one after another taking turns. No sizzle at all. The dominant control was barely there aside from the bullying and taking her whenever they wanted, with zero objection from Sidney.
12 hour book equated to bullying, banging, torture, stalkers, and lots of sex (which is usually fine by me!! No chemistry or emotional depth killed it for me). Didn’t make me happy, sad, hot, terrified, or satisfied with the conclusion. Oh, and beware of triggers if that isn’t your thing!!!
Sorry! I tried to like it.
It was a struggle to get through it
