Great build. Suspenseful

It was a slow build. Sorta pushed through in the beginning because I bought it, so I definitely didn't think I would end up liking it. But by the end I was sold and ready Book 2!

love the twists & turns.

I hate the cliffhanger but overall, I enjoyed the story. I wish there were better physical descriptions of the characters and clothes, I had some trouble imagining them. I enjoyed the narrator, my only complaint is that I've become spoiled expecting male narrators to speak the male voices. Hearing the female narrator try to do a male voice made it hard to take the seriousness of the male character. I look forward to the sequel.

One of the best books ever I’ve read and highly recommend. It had twists and turns and kept me guessing.

A stand out in this genre

Read too many fantasy romance books and they all start to sound the same. Not this one! Kathryn Ann Kingsley has a talent for making you fall in love with the villains and she doesn’t let you shy away from their darkness. Nope she goes full throttle into the void. I hope these two paint the town red in the next book!!!

Wasted potential

I didn’t believe the protagonist’s attraction to the antagonist after the way he murdered her family in front of her.
