The story has a new idea about monster romance with unicorns. The whole idea of the heard thing makes sense.
The lead female character has commitment phobia from a bad marriage and unwanted pregnancy. Also the amount of debt the ex left.
Seems like this story could have had some good bits to make it really interesting.
My hang up is the choices made by the lead female character. She starts the divorce procedures, and then her ex starts filing debt on once he realizes. She does not fight this.
Also half was through the story. She is offered a potion. She never takes it knowing the positive outcomes of it. Because of this. Somebody has to sacrifice something important to them.
I also do wish they included more of a backstory on the other herd members. They are part of the relationship, but they feel more like side characters that you barely know anything about.

The whole horse or unicorn thing was kinda odd. I love monster romance book type. I just could not get into this.

There were too many non-romantic elements for this to connect with me. Jade was pregnant from page one. The herd consisted of three males and a female who, with the exception of Sterling, only interacted with Jade for sex or baby stuff. Moremance and baby mama drama just didn’t provide fun or heart.
