Max and the others did what most believed was impossible: they defeated the final tower floor. With that task complete, they face a new challenge.
Every member of the party: Max, Tanila, Cordellia, Fowl, Batrire, Sog & Rakonath; is now a god. But the new title doesn't come with the unlimited power they expected their world's creators held.
Their new task set before them: create a world and help it thrive, growing stronger as it expands. It sounds simple, until the truth is revealed. Danger awaits them after a brief period of protection. Other gods will seek to defeat them and take their power.
Can Max and Bob overcome this new struggle?
And don’t forget, their daughter's birth is soon.
Being a baker would have been far easier than what comes next.

I listened to the entire series from beginning to now...the series prior to the book was entertaining and kept you attention.

What I really enjoyed is how time is treated in this book. Years pass with barely a pause, almost like time itself is a resource being spent to reach the next goal. It’s an unusual approach, but it works well here and makes the scope of Max’s journey feel truly epic.
Max and Bob continue to be a great pairing. I enjoyed watching them plan, cooperate, and consistently come out ahead rather than stumbling forward blindly. That sense of competence is a big part of why this series is so satisfying.
I also appreciated how this book handled loss. Side characters experience grief and consequences, but the story avoids using shock deaths of major characters just for drama. Personally, I’m glad the author didn’t go down that road. A likeable main character you can actually invest in matters to me, and this series continues to deliver that.
Overall, this was fun, exciting, and deeply enjoyable. I’m loving watching Max and Bob continue to grow, even beyond godhood, and I’m very much looking forward to what comes next.
