Our love was like a lightning bolt. A pain in the chest that I couldn't forget.

Nina Anderson ruined me for all other women, launching into my world and anchoring herself to my core. She ran—she always ran.

Now she's back, holding the tattered pieces of my soul in her fingertips and wanting more than I'm willing to give.

I don't want her. I don't trust her. But I need her.

Our love is toxic, our words lethal, our bond—unbreakable. But while we toe the line blindly, we both miss the demons we unveil with our light.

Demons that threaten to bring me to my knees.

Contains mature themes.

so overall it was ok. However, I would have liked them to have changed in some ways. like he was always burning hot over everything and her running, naive, and sometimes too much. It would have also been better if it developed a little more on the other characters too as it was very vague on there relationships. ..... unless it'll been a continuous series.

NARRATORS no complaints at all

Good story but a lot of back and forth.

I was completely disappointed in this book. MMC is a complete a-hole! The FMC has been through so much in her younger year I expected her to be stronger. She had every right to feel way she did and the author making it out to be like she was in the wrong is ridiculous. I feel like she constantly caved to him and took all the blame on her self.i was hoping that in book 2 he was better but no and neither was she. He uses his money to buy her even at the end where the author is trying to make it seem like he wasn't. I was just so disappointed in this book and FMC. I don't typically write review, but this book made me so mad.

weak fmc

I read both books & finished them to be sure of my review. I now need to scrape the scum of the MMC off my skin.

The narrative & story structure was amazing & the FMC was a great character who was worth all the gold in the world albeit a bit of pushover for tolerating him and his bu!!5h!t …..

BUT the MMC was possibly the most unredeemable detestable person I have ever read in a novel. He is simply destructive in the worst way so much so that he disgusts me.

The most disappointing part of the novel is the narrative makes excuses for his repeated appalling behavior in the name of supposed anger or plot development. It makes a mockery of a great character development.

Mild Spoiler - With 3 hours remaining in book 2 the narrative turns again & the FMC seems to ignore his a75holery & decides that it's all been her fault for walking away from his repeated bad behavior. The narrative completely ignores that his continued lies, duplicity and manipulation that got her there.

I don’t really care about the sub-plots when the main body is so clearly a wasteland of narcissistic MMC. It made my gut twist.

The MMCs repeated bad behaviors and manipulations are whitewashed - he is a complete uncaring piece of c#@p. His uncaring behavior is disgraceful - he’s an a5@*hole that deserves that special corner in hell.

I cannot reiterate the disappointment in tolerating his deceitful, selfish, self-centered, manipulative behaviors that are repeated & the narrative is making excuses. MMC has no conscience and ZERO self-awareness.

The MMC lacks impulse control, is deceitful & gets off on causing repeated hurt. There are even instances of MMCs DV behaviors (jealousy is not an excuse). This MMC uses the most destructive words to hurt & it’s worse because his friends & her friends excuse him. It's all in the name of him trying to feel better about himself. FTS. Let him burn in hell. He is never held to account for himself.

I have rarely wanted an FMC to find a better option & head off into a HEA. It just papers over the ugly & unforgivable.

The sad thing is I liked the underlying premise and the book was really well written.

Grandly tough
