Jim and his friends found a way to stop the evil infesting the leadership of the Empire, but the shadows of the world are not all cast by the demon incursion. There's plenty of darkness already dwelling within the corrupted heart of the Empire.

One of the team goes missing, and Jim has to find them before it's too late. They have a chance to reach the Western Province before the nox infection spreads, but having the entire team is paramount to their success. They'll have to find a way to come together, or risk the Empire sinking completely into the darkness.

No pressure, it's just the fate of the world.

I love this series. I have burned through the first three books and I can wait for more. Travis brings the characters to life so well and it reminds me a lot of cradle which I love as well. Great work!

Realistic reactions, and comedy.

Such a good book, there is so much that I enjoy about this series. Super funny, and situationally understandable for like all of the scenes.
Looking forward to the next one.

He has earned a new fan

So, a small stipulation to this review. I have not read the first two books. That being said, because of this book, I will be purchasing both of them. I thoroughly enjoyed every chapter of this book. Amazingly also is that I did not have trouble following the storyline without reading the previous books. To me this says the author did a great job of summarizing the story so far while continuing to push the story forward. The group seems balanced which is hard to find sometimes. Alot of books have the main character so over powered where the other members of their team seem unnecessary. Great job, can't wait for the next one

Keeps getting better and better

Really getting to see Jim step into his power, he has always been stronger than the average cultivator of his level and he is really sprinting into it. High seas and high stakes with a lot of nox butt kickin
